What Does It Take To Succeed?

Posted by MrGoodMan on May 31st, 2006

Looking back on my life, I often wondered what made me different from everyone. No matter what I did I just never felt I fit in. I would often call myself the “Inside Outside Man.”

For years people asked me, “How did you do it” in reference to sports, college, life and now running an online business. My response was always the same, “I just do it! I don’t limit myself.”

Yet, that answer would never be enough. The truth is a lot of what I possess is intangible. You just can’t measure it but at certain times you can see it exhibited in my reaction to tough situations.

Finally, I have come across a site that was able to express in words and visually that was difficult for me to do. It is highly recommended you have a broadband connection, turn up your speakers and get ready to be floored!

I watch this video everyday because it allows me to visually see what I already know! It is simple yet profound. If you don’t get it then you may never succeed in life. But if you do get it you have what it takes to succeed. It’s really that simple. Click on the words, “Succeed Today” that’s below and enjoy!

Ever Wonder What A Good Man Does…

…when he’s not at work? Well, in my case I’m always working. Okay, maybe I should rephrase that…I’m always thinking about projects and ideas come to me at an alarming rate.

For this holiday weekend I’ll be:

  • Outlining what should be included in a training program I am developing for my business
  • Revising the training program at work (the first draft)
  • Attending my leadership training class
  • Attending church
  • Going to the movies with myself :)
  • Developing a marketing plan for a client
  • Creating an online quiz for visitors to one of my sites
  • Writing an article
  • Signing up for a site that provides monthly audio books at $49 per month
  • Listening to at least three of the audio books
  • Relax on Monday :)

Where are my children? They left me to hang out with their friends or family! I’m just an ATM machine when they need me. :D

So, this good man is working this weekend and relaxing a little. I know what you’re probably thinking, “Geez, get a life dude?”

Would you be saying those same words a year from now when I tell you I’m retiring, taking the rest of my life off and enjoying it as my hardwork has paide off? Nope!

I don’t mind putting in the work with the hope that things will work themselves out in the end. To be honest, I know the end result already just not sure how I’ll get there! :)

Let me explain the last sentence. While I have a plan and follow it things rarely go according to plan. Stuff happens that cause me to change methods or refocus my efforts.
So, I’ll keep moving forward and go with the flow!

Until next time!

“What Makes You So Special…,”

…is what someone asked me the other day! It was in reference to this site and why they should listen to me.

I guess I shocked them with my answer as they were left speechless!

“I could care less if you listen to me. You’ve wasted enough time listening to people who were no better off than you. I don’t say that to be mean but just being honest based on what I’ve witnessed over the years. Don’t believe anything I tell you. Just try what I say and judge for yourself. That is the only way you would know if what I say works.”

Let me make this perfectly clear so there is no confusion from this point forward. It truly doesn’t matter to me who likes me! I’ve passed that stage in my life where I looked for acceptance from people to validate me.

I love me, I know me and am very happy with where I am in life. I am far from wealthy but rich with friends whom I can trust with my life, have two healthy and wonderful children, loving and supportive family and a woman who likes me for me! What more could a man ask for?

If you find my direct approach to raw for you please leave this site. Throughout my rants, I will continually repeat this statement.

You’re probably saying to yourself, “Boy, he must have been hurt really bad and taking it out on people.” Most people would think that but it would be inaccurate.

The truth is I’ve come to realize how much time I’ve wasted on things and people who didn’t deserve it. So, I do not plan to waste anymore. Time is the one of a handful of precious things we cannot replace.

Do you honestly expect me to waste my time worrying about what people think of me? Give me a break! However, if you worry about that then you have room for growth. Hence, why this site exists.

At some point, you will have to take responsibility for your life. And when you do, I hope the Podcasts will assist you on your journey. But if you are not ready then the podcasts and my rants will appear to be unimportant and irrelevant to your life.

Hey, it’s your time you’re wasting not mine. I’m enjoying my life can you say the same?

Until next time!
